Modern Malleables Ltd. Company History and Annual Growth Details

Modern Malleable Casting Works began as a partnership firm in 1956. On 16th October 1982, the firm was converted into a Private Limited Company. The company became a deemed public limited company in 1989 U/S 43(A) of the Companies Act. The name of the company was changed to MMCW Industries Ltd on 12th February 1992 and subsequently to Modern Malleables Limited on 7th may 1992. Fresh Certificate of Incorporation has been issued by the ROC, West Bengal at Calcutta on the above mentioned date.

MML initially started its activities in trading of electrical equipment. In 1969, it set up a small scale unit at Liluah, Howrah, West Bengal, for fabrication of accessories for electrical equipment. Subequntly it expanded its activities by setting up another factory in Liluah, Howrah, West Bengal, for fabrication of accessories for electrical equipmet. Subsequently it expended its activities by setting up another factory in Liluah about 1 KM away from the existing factory for manufacture of certein electrical fittings and hardwares, conductor accessories, spacers, dampers, pole line hardwares for supply to Electricity Boards and other power distribution companies. The factories are called as Unit I and Unit II respectively. MML has over the years acquired considerable experience in this line. It has a well equipped research & deveopment department for development of new products. MML is registered with ISI for manufacture of tension and non-tensional joints, repair sleeves, armour rods, suspension and tension insulator string and assembly fittings manufactured by it. The company also export these products and during the year 1991-92 its export was Rs.2439.64 lakhs (86% of its turnover). It has earned the recognisation of an Export House.
